No sooner had I written a note about why I had finished teaching than my friends from Kontur asked me to help build an online information security course for businesses. The classes had already started, and in a tight timeframe I needed to develop two course modules and prepare — then record in a studio — 7 full lectures.
The task was interesting and, given the deadlines, far from trivial, so I could not refuse, especially since I had never filmed video courses before. Armed with lectures from my university days, industry articles and forums, regulatory documents and books, sifting through an endless stream of information seasoned with my own experience, working sleepless nights after my main job, I sometimes managed to finish the next piece of material literally hours before the recording — and, jumping into a taxi, catch up on sleep on the way to the studio.
I will not hide it: the task was not easy, but I gained interesting and useful experience, refreshed my knowledge, and was able to put into the lessons the material I had accumulated over the years but had no one to pass it on to. Besides, this format perfectly combines my love of knowledge sharing with my reluctance to return to the walls of academia.
I hope this is far from the last chapter in my story with educational projects!
